FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: toothy
This Wiki contains a summary of the latest reports from forum members.
Please feel free to add to it, including if this just means updating the date to confirm that the previous information is still valid.

If you don't have Wiki editing rights, or don't know how to edit the wiki please post an update in the thread below. Please include, for each flight
  • Your flight number (IMPORTANT!), and route, and if your flight wasn't recent, which month you flew
    • Amenity Kit - none / Short-haul / Normal Long Haul
      • Pyjamas - none / Normal Grey PJs / White Company PJs
        • Slippers - none / provided

Amenity Kits.
The BRICS amenity kits were made available from the start of 2017, taking over from the previous Armani kits. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qatar...nity-kits.html. Also http://lux-traveller.com/2017/qatar-...menity-kit.htm
Note that there are two versions of the amenity kit - a long-haul one, and a slimmed down one for regional flights. They are available for J/F passengers on regional and long-haul flights. They will usually be offered to you between boarding and take-off.

In Autumn 2017 we have had QR offering some autumnal updates #723 and Press Release to the amenity kits
And in October 17 all BRICS kits turned pink for Breast Cancer Awareness #742
From November 17 the kits are Blue for boys and Yellow for girls (#796) with apparently no difference in the male/female contents (#833)

Pyjamas.
New White Company pyjamas were announced in early 2017. See http://www.qatarairways.com/english_...e_whitecompany.
Up until autumn 2017 the White Company PJs were still a rarity, and appeared to be reserved for F passengers, J passengers in QSuites or A380s. However, as of October 2017 there are increasing reports of White Company PJs turning up in normal J cabins which might mean the Grey unbranded PJs are now on their way out of circulation, although in November there were still plenty of reports of the old grey PJs being handed out (#821). The White Company PJs come with slippers in the package which have been observed (#796) to not be as good quality as the slippers that used to be given out separately
Pyjamas are typically available to J/F passengers on long-haul flights that involve some night time flying. They will usually be offered to you between boarding and take-off.

Slippers.
If you receive the new White Company PJs the slippers are included within the package even when flying in J and hence will now usually be received when the crew gives you your PJs. With the old grey PJs the slippers were separate and reserved for the longest flights; they were usually pre-delivered and stashed in your seat drawer or storage bin.

As always with QR, your feedback and experience is key in helping other future passengers to set their expectations correctly so please contribute!

Hope so. Not that I want to seem like the world's biggest princess, but the amenity kit bag itself on QR is disappointing. Generally I find amenity kit bags to be a very convenient size for all sorts of things, and I have some great TUMI-branded ones from JAL and Delta with a really nice weave texture on them - one of the JAL ones is also a very smart red colour. The QR ones feel plasticky, and the zips are always breaking...

QR883 BKK-DOH 20:40 (A380) offered PJ's yesterday.

What you mean by 'disappointing', the actual case or the content?

I find that the casing is irrelevant, maybe Rimowa is still the best one from all airlines.

IMHO the content QR offers in First with the bottle of Aqua Di Gio is very nice.

I'm presuming you don't get any PJ's on 3pm CDG flights?

Pjamas offered on QR815 HKG-DOH. Flight departs at 01:20 and pjamas were handed out immediately upon boarding.

As a side note, plane was a refurbished A330-200 which was fine. Second side point is that the HKG aircraft usually operates the morning flight to Manchester - so may be useful for those wanting to find out whether they will have the refurbished or original seats.

Were you offered the "Gio" amenities beside the PJ on the same flight QR883? (i'm taking that one and have my sights set on a Gio amenities bag)

Does anyone know if they also offer the same kind of amenities on the DOA-AUH First class flights?

You will get the amenity kit even if they don't give PJ's on long haul J and F but no kit on intra gulf first flights

Question about the sizing of QR's PJs. I find Asian airline sizes are very small compared to normal North American/European sizing, such that even someone 6' about 180 lbs often needs an XL rather than an L (or M if it was on BA or LH). What is the sizing like with QR's?

The standard J class PJs are in two sizes, S/M and L/XL, and as a result of being two sizes in one don't really seem to fit anyone that well! I find the S/M too tight, and the L/XL too big. They are good quality though, and the trousers have a draw string so can be adjusted to size. The F PJs are a much more snug fit.

Thanks. Don't expect them to be a perfect fit given the range of body types they must cater to. Will still bring along my LH sleeper bottoms which have served me well both size-wise and with their smooth cotton finish.

Worth noting that the ones in F come as S/M, L/XL, XXL/XXXL.

Not sure if the largest size is available in J, but they may stock a few pairs.

Pretty sure I'm not that large, but having seen some very wealthy folk from that part of the world I can well see why they'd need to stock XXL/XXXL in F.

I find the trousers for L/XL too small but the top is fine. This wasn't the case in the old A340 First where Large was fine. I thought at first it was a mistake and they'd put the wrong size trousers in, but tried again on a second flight and same thing. Luckily I had a set of Cathay Large with me in case they didn't have any at all which if anything are a bit baggy on me. I am a 38/40" waist these days.

I got a set of S/M PJs on QR38 last week, plus the new amenity kit. I'm about 5 7 and the fit was fine.

Got another amenity kit on QR1387 (DOH-KGL) which was a day fight.

Just finished a BKK-DOH flight in F, asked for XXL. Top was like a tent, far too big, the bottoms still too tight, I used my Cathay L's instead.

It's not a big deal, I bring PJs with me anyway on QR, I never know if they'll be on offer or not.

I've found the same problem with the Missoni PJs in F. Got them to mix and match me an L/XL top with an XXL bottom, and they're a good loose fit, although the sleeves won't pull up over my forearms. Generally I'm a US M, UK L, Thai XL.
