Amenity Kits.
The BRICS amenity kits were made available from the start of 2017, taking over from the previous Armani kits. See http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qatar...nity-kits.html. Also http://lux-traveller.com/2017/qatar-...menity-kit.htm
Note that there are two versions of the amenity kit - a long-haul one, and a slimmed down one for regional flights. They are available for J/F passengers on regional and long-haul flights. They will usually be offered to you between boarding and take-off.
In Autumn 2017 we have had QR offering some autumnal updates #723 and Press Release to the amenity kits
And in October 17 all BRICS kits turned pink for Breast Cancer Awareness #742
From November 17 the kits are Blue for boys and Yellow for girls (#796) with apparently no difference in the male/female contents (#833)
Pyjamas.
New White Company pyjamas were announced in early 2017. See http://www.qatarairways.com/english_...e_whitecompany.
Up until autumn 2017 the White Company PJs were still a rarity, and appeared to be reserved for F passengers, J passengers in QSuites or A380s. However, as of October 2017 there are increasing reports of White Company PJs turning up in normal J cabins which might mean the Grey unbranded PJs are now on their way out of circulation, although in November there were still plenty of reports of the old grey PJs being handed out (#821). The White Company PJs come with slippers in the package which have been observed (#796) to not be as good quality as the slippers that used to be given out separately
Pyjamas are typically available to J/F passengers on long-haul flights that involve some night time flying. They will usually be offered to you between boarding and take-off.
Slippers.
If you receive the new White Company PJs the slippers are included within the package even when flying in J and hence will now usually be received when the crew gives you your PJs. With the old grey PJs the slippers were separate and reserved for the longest flights; they were usually pre-delivered and stashed in your seat drawer or storage bin.

PJ's were handed out on on my non overnight, non ultra long haul flight last week (all sizes available), so we are still consistently inconsistent. Regarding supply shortages though, I read a while ago that the PJ supplier is due to change to The White Company, so maybe this is happening soon?

Not just ultra hauls for QF but yes for AA. However, other airlines provide pyjamas in J on more flights, including VS, JL, etc, which also provides slippers.

I've never been offered Slippers in J on my AA flights to and from LHR.
Worth noting that VS Upper Class is above Business Class (based on fare pricing), and so is really their attempt at F - where Slippers should always be offered.
JL offer them, as you have said yourself, based on cultural reasons.

i wasn't the one mentioning cultural reasons but I think It mostly pertained to slippers rather than the pyjama/suit, which is actually a sweater in JL J

QR did not provide PJs on my 6:25 (3,022 miles) overnight flight BCN-DOH, which I assumed was because it wasn't long enough, but perhaps is just inconsistency since you got them from BRU, a 6:20 flight (3,041 miles).

Nope, AA is only ultra long haul such as Oz and the soon to end NZ service from LA. Those flights also get improved catering and slippers in addition to pjs

Didn't get new pyjamas
Flew QR from NYC to SIN earlier this month in J. On the NYC-DOH sector (QR 704), I got pyjamas, but they were the old QR branded ones. When i enquired about the new ones the Stewardess had no clue what I was talking about. I found that strange. I guess QR is still getting rid of its old inventory on certain sectors and not all staff have been made aware of their new pyjamas.
