Qs abt bag check fees when travelling USA domestic but continuation of QR flight

My wife will be coming back DOH-IAD at around 3:22PM. She then needs to travel to IAD-MSP but that will not be till the next day. This whole trip is on the same PNR. Her IAD-MSP is on United. Would she need to pay for checked bags for her IAD-MSP trip?

If the baggage are tagged all the way to MSP she don't need to pay extra fee. In this case, QR is the most significant carrier crossing the IATA zones.

See discussions on IATA 302 and US DOT ruling on this subject.

DOT now eliminates MSC. All very simple. Whatever she pays for Segment 1 continues throughout her itinerary so long as there is a to/from USA segment somewhere. Here, Segment 1 is to USA so that's her allowance.

Make sure you print out that information... domestic carrier check in agent might not always follow other airlines' rules.
