This is why QF created such a fuss with LAWA (airport operator of LAX) to guarantee a jetway for all A380 flights at TBIT (there are only 2). They had to take extreme measures but it seems to have worked (presumably this QF94 was B744 operated).
The TBIT lounge situation is really frustrating. LAWA offered Oneworld an entire floor, and they decided to take 1/2 instead. Thus the lounge overcrowding. Of course the costs are astronomical (so I can see their point in cutting down the lounge size) but it guarantees customer dissatisfaction whenever the load is "normal".
I am just enjoying the pleasures of t4 F lounge now, there are about 6 people in the lounge which is twice as many as the MIA F lounge earlier today. Will head over to TBIT on the b*s shortly.

I've just made my way over to TBIT and should have just stayed in the Flagship Lounge over at T4 instead where there were plenty of seats (well, have to admit I wanted to check this lounge out--just should have allowed less time), Don't see a single open seat around me here in TBIT (I'm sharing one of the white round tables with another traveler), and just too noisy for me. Next time I'll just come over here closer to departure time. I'm on the 2350 747 flight (upgraded to premium economy--coach is oversold), so hopefully those on the earlier A380 flight will start clearing out soon and it will quiet down some.
At least the food offerings are different than what was over in T4. There is a chicken and noodle dish, a curry, and some finger sandwiches. Over at T4 that had a spicy chicken dish (adobe chicken), tortillas filled with something (didn't have one), rice and beans, and turkey croissant sandwiches.

The lack of powerpoints is also annoying for those wanting to use a laptop at TBIT can't remember if T4 is any better though!
What I have noticed in many lounges, not jus TBIT OW, is that people will sit in front of the lounge provided computers just to use the powerpoint for their own laptop as there is usually always spare powerpoints behind the desktop computers.

Over in T4 there is a power module on the small tables between the seats with multiple outlets, but those type of modules are only about every other row, so you do have to look for them (I didn't have a problem, and there were open seats next to me tonight if someone else needed access).
The wifi over here in TBIT is deathly slow, where I was just zipping along over in T4 at the Flagship Lounge, but I see that's been mentioned before and is not a new issue. I would not try to view video on this side with the poor connection. I've had to reload a couple pages when the connection has timed out. I have a Samsung netbook with 6 hour battery life so not looking for a plug on this side as the battery will hold me (saw a news article that these have just been released in Australia this week).
