Internation Business Class Seats

We FINALLY have enough air miles for LAX-Sydney, can anyone tell me what the pitch is? Also, if anybody knows just HOW much difference there is between 1st Class and Business Class?

I suggest you go here http://www.qantas.com.au/flights.html
where you can compare business and first from the drop down menu. Also at the bottom of the page is a link to a virtual tour of a Qantas 747-400. I think the pitch may be about 50 - 55 inches.

I find the recline more than adequate. If you want total recline, ie flat then go First Class.

I'd have to agree with Clement Lowe and disagree strongly with 744. QF int'l BC seats have an awfully limited recline (I think it's been stated as 9-9.5" while QF EC seats are 7-7.5"). The excessive curve in the back of the Dreamtime seats is also something I personally hate (same thing found on the US 333 Envoy BC seats - which are the same but are blessed with more recline). I actualy like the seat backs of the QF EC seats and fnd it nicer to sleep in than the BC seats.

Shall we say that of current BC products, I find the QF int'l BC seats the most uncomfortable among the current products of CX, US Envoy (333 version), NW WBC (best), CP (next to best), BA (cradle).

Lindihop: I've flown QF Business from LAX-SYD both upstairs and downstairs. Ask to be seated in the upstairs section of the 747. Get the exit row if you can. Compared to coach you will be quite happy. Despite what terenz says, I found the QF Dreamtime seat to be perfectly comfortable. But, then again, I also like US Airways A-330 seats as well.
