I had the hamburger when I was going through.
It was absolutely dripping with oil however delicious... Perfect to sop up some of the wine.

I just love the view.. Man I need another holiday

I miss the chicken schnitzel. It was nice. The menu and portion size appears to have been downsized... oh well, we can only expect 'enhancements'

I was really a fan of the original grilled Fish (of the day - generally Barramundi or Whiting) lightly cooked in oil and served with Kipfler potatoes.

In SYD last month I saw the meny had changed and was disappointed to see it had changed to "Grilled Fish with Roast Cherry Tomatoes, White Beans, Olives and Capers".

I did try it, but found the Olives and capers overpowered the delicate fish flavours ...

Another dish I quite liked was the side of string beans cooked in garlic oil with almonds - it has gone.

ISTR the orginal "All day menu" was available from Noon.

I note it has now changed to 11am - I guess it was normally a bit late of eggs benedict at ¼ to 12.

Oh, and I wish they'd stock the fridge with those Summit small water bottles. I find the taste nicer than the Italian import.

All the dishes now seem to be drizzled in Olive Oil. Next time I think I will ask them to put less oil.

It was the first time I tried the Non breakfast menu.

Overall I fidn the offering to be really nice, but I am thinking whether this is sustainable in the long run given any man and dog can goto the lounge now and during peak hours can they serve the food in a decent turnaroudn time for people to catch their flight.

On the 31 Dec, there were only like 3 tables of diners and it took them 15 minutes for the entree to come out and another 15 minutes for the main course.

That is 30 minutes already and given there is not that many people and all the tables did not order together.

I don't know what are the WP access rights, but it seems they can guess in mroe than 2 pax into the lounge (as I saw many kids and toodlers with their parents (>4)

I think reverting to a buffet setup might be better in the long run.Just keep it high quality like CX.

Also one thing I find funny when I ordered the chilli squid is that, although the taste was OK, it was exactly how a member here described what he experienced at Hakkasan - Oily, lack of Wok Heat. Which is the only issue I had with the food.

I highly recommend the fries with the cream corn!

The King Prawn fried rice is not that good as they chop up the prawn bits and it tasted quite average.

The Salmon Salad is the best dish.

Avoid the Ice Cream as there were a lot of Ice bits inside and comapre to HD it is definitely not as good.

Overall it is a much better experience than the old F Class lounge, but like many QF product offerings I find they don't really need to jazz things up so much and just keep it simple.

I've never experienced a long delay for the food to come out. I was there yesterday and it sounds like it was busier than when you were there and they were bringing the food out faster than you described. Maybe they were having a bad day when you were there.

They also always ask your surname when serving you, so I think that they check your flight time when they place the order to make sure you have enough time to dine.

Generally, families are permitted access (subject to capacity); other than that, it's one guest for WP's.

Here's the Qantas (First) Lounge Access policy:
  • Lounge Access - Qantas Club and Frequent Flyers.
(Look under "International First Lounge " for WP).

Note there are already changes afoot, from 1st April, WP Anytime access is changing. More in this post here.

Also, the QFF program is due for changes (to be announced soon). It is possible these changes may make it harder to attain WP.
