BA LHR T4 - Arrivals Lounge

Lounge name and type - BA Heathrow Terminal 4 Arrivals Lounge

Access rules – Only for WPs (OW Emerald) and J and F passengers arriving off long haul international flight/itinerary on BA or QF that day. (Arrive in Club Europe/Euro Traveller and you can’t access it, for e.g.).

Facilities – Small but very nice space, designed for people arriving off long night flights : breakfast bar with numerous options, juices etc, informal style dining area with tables and chairs, TV area, business centre and a clothes valet service (very nice touch).

Plus full MB Spa (with very few people using it, unlike the long queues/no available slots in the T4 Departures Lounge), showers with toiletries and towels, etc.

Misc. – Open 4:30am – 2pm daily.

And note that if you are a WP arriving in Y and your Plat. card has not arrived yet and you wanna use the lounge, take a screenshot/statement/letter from QF with to prove your status, the lounge dragons are very strict on this (your status showing on your BP will not be enough).

CAI, Egypt (generic, multi-carrier) F lounge (when flying BA)

Lounge name and type – Cairo Int. generic multi-carrier airport F lounge.

Access rules – When traveling in F, and WPs (thanks Dave for confirming that).

Facilities – Not many ! A little food, some very worn sofas, a few papers and a drinks option of two. Pretty basic and uninspiring, its an F lounge that is worst than the vast majority of J ones I have ever seen… though its not as bad as some on the BA Forum would have you believe ! (Though I believe the J one is even worse !)

Bad features – No showers etc, and toilets outside… not much of anything really ! The general recommendation is ‘OK place to spend half an hour, but don’t get to airport much earlier !

Misc. – Various credit cards etc will also get you in I believe, inc. Amex Gold and Plat., Priority Pass, etc.

WP status will allow access to the CAI lounge when travelling BA

With arrivals lounge access, not only must you be a WP, you must also be arriving on BA or QF longhaul , no other airline arrival counts

Ta Dave, much appreciated, have updated both posts accordingly. (I had meant to say that you can only use Arrivals lounge when coming in on BA or QF but omitted it somehow !).

You can see information on the QF lounges here:

http://www.qantas.com.au/info/flying...ions/australia

(There is no default page for this directory, so you've to start somewhere and use the navigation on the left to go to other parts of the world.)

Thanks Leumas, loads of info on QF lounges/QPs (inc. that link) in the 'Ultimate' Sticky etc, idea of this Thread is to concentrate on OW lounges that are less easy to get info on, that many/most people here may not have been to (how many here have been to all or most Oz QPs ?!?), and that have not been posted about a million times already on the Forum (as most QPs have).

In this vain, has anyone btw been to any Finnair or Varig lounges ? Would be very interested to hear how they are.

KBP (Kiev) Business Lounge

Lounge name and type – KBP Shared Business Class Lounge

Located after immigration at the rear of the waiting area, up half a flight of stairs.

Access rules - By invitation from the airline if you are in a premium cabin. BA provided invites for me and family as OneWorld Emerald even though on economy award seats.

Note this is not a OneWorld or BA lounge, but an airport operated lounge that BA and other airlines use for their premium passengers. You must get an invitation card from the check-in agent to use this lounge.

Facilities – Small and simple. Comfortable seats. Clean toilet facilities are much nicer than the general terminal facilities. Shoe polishing machine outside toilets.

Self serve fridge for beer, soft drinks etc. Manned bar for other items. No charge.

No food or business facilities.

UPDATE - BA, CDG Terminal 2B.

UPDATE - BA lounge, Paris CDG Terminal 2B.

Am glad to report that this lounge, that really used to be horrid, has been improved a little, and so is now elavated to the status of 'OK' !

They have now got some newer seats, a couple more computer Terminals (and all are new Apple's, though still with the old key boards ), and for the kids/those so inclined they have got 3 stands around the lounge with handheld Playstation consols to play games on !

Lounge was also quite quiet, but this may just have been due to the time of day, it has always been very full in the past when I have been in it.

Access is still, I assume (I was flying in J so did not have the issue), only for those flying that day in J on BA - there is still no OW sign at the door, so assume status/QP membership still won't get you in.

BA J Lounge AMS

Lounge name and type – BA Executive Business Lounge, Amsterdam Schiphol.

Access rules - Standard access rules.

Facilities – Pretty awful lounge, worst BA Exec. Lounge I have ever seen.

Very very small, in 3 sections : v. small main room, larger 'no-mobile phone use room' (though everyone in it used their phones very loudly anyway ) and a (relatively large) smoking room. It is all in the usual Terraces decor but in a very basic way, and with very limited facilities/options.

Basic seating options, though at least a couple of 'loungers' in the 'no-mobiles' section. A few food and drink options (sandwiches, crisps, bars etc), but little else (No showers, etc, etc).

But its a very cramped space, even when not full (and it really was very very full when I was there).

They do have two computers (one in regular lounge, one in smoking section), but to my amazement you have to pay to use them. Have never seen this in the lounge of a major airline that I can recall (some charge for Wi-Fi etc, but not to use the computers), certainly never in a BA one.

No F lounge.

IB (international) Business Lounge

Aisle Seat H wrote
but no showers etc.
end quote

Actually the showers are very well hidden and locked
But there are 5 of them. I asked at the front desk (being in desperate need) and was given a key to shower #1. I then hunted (and wandered) and hunted and then down the right hand corridor I found showers #4 & #5.

I asked at the front desk and was escorted to an unlabeled door on the far end of the main seating area behind which there were doors to ...... Showers #1 #2 and #3

Sometimes it does pay to ask.

Happy wandering

Thanks wandering_fred, I'll update the post accordingly.

I had not wanted to use a shower, but the lady at front desk told me that there were not any anyway !!! (I asked as was about to start this Thread ! )

Oh, and it says on the IB website that it does have an F lounge, even though (again) I was told that there isn't one... did you find that too by any chance ?!?

I would think there is only one main lounge area but to clarify I was waiting for an IB flight. So I think we are talking about the same lounge.

Alas Mrs was about 2K Qpoints (and I about 10k) and the posting delay short of EXPlat when we went through MAD so I wasn't looking for the F lounge. OTOH the status did post 2 days AFTER we did less than 24 hour stop in HKG. That was annoying.

Happy wandering

Tokyo NRT T1 - BA Terraces Lounge

Lounge name and type – BA Terraces (One single lounge, no F lounge).

Access rules - Standard access rules.

Facilities – Pretty small facility, reminiscent of a minor regional UK domestic lounge.

Pretty limited food (nibbles, one or two breakfast items etc) and drink options.

A few computers scattered about the space, and a few tables and chairs.

Pretty wide newspaper and magazine selection (Japanese, UK and international).

No showers - there are however 2 or 3 at the AA lounge next door I understand (there are none at the CX lounge, again I have been told, which is right next door to the AA one).

Very small/basic toilet facilities.

Other info - Only open when there are BA flights, but with the AA and CX lounges next door there are lots of OW options there (plus QF itself from T2, where you use the JAL lounge, right ?).

AA lounge by all accounts is a much much bigger lounge too (though no doubt with almost no food and drink options, as ever ).
