Yes, I have seen this mentioned in multiple places now. Looks like the original flight numbers were just holding positions.

The price for flights to Beijing isn't too shabby, $999 all in from Sydney - I guess they want to get those flights full for the start of the service. The rest look pretty mediocre though - certainly not to be sneezed at if already travelling, but I don't think any of them are going to get me rushing out the door for an unplanned trip.

Speaking on which those lizards at Vermin Blue came up with a....

'Happy Birthday Qantas Sale'

Fares starts at $49 and is valid for travel between 17/1/06 to 31/3/06 as with Qantas but sale ends 14th November.

MEL-CBR morning flight upgraded to 767. QF804 dep Mel 07:20 arr Cbr 08:20 Good news for regular flyers with a larger a/c on this service. Canberra's only 767 service.

Don't be surprised if your schedulded 332 flight changes to a 333 over the next few weeks. VH-EBA [The first 332 delivered to Qantas] is currently in Zurich, in getting a C-Check. Takes about 7 days to complete with -EBB set to go in straight after. Be nice to get one SYD-CNS...

Also note: Ozjet start operations tomorrow (Tuesday) and the first JQ flight across 'the ditch' is on Thursday.

And forgot to add..

The last registered Qantas VH- 733 makes its final flight tonight. It's due for a maintenance check then delivery to BA subsidiary Comair in South Africa over the next few weeks.

Her last flight is tonight (28th NOV):

QF 631
Brisbane 16.50pm
Melbourne 20.10pm

There is still a number of Kiwi registered Qantas 733s but they're for flying across the ditch and are currently being replaced by newer Qantas 737-400s.
