What is "Eastern Australian Airlines" ?

I looked up QF28, a flight from SCL-SYD, but Flightaware issued a page with Eastern Australian Airlines EAQ28.

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/EAQ28

It QF split up ??

Does this airline exist ?

It is a subsidiary of Qantas that operates Dash-8s under the QantasLink (or Jetstar of you're in NZ) banner. It is one of their regional airlines - been that way for a long time

Having said all that - it won't be operatimng that service - it seems more like a glitch to me.

Think American Eagle or PSA for AA. They fly Dash-8'S branded as Qantas Link around NSW & QLD. You won't be on one of those to SCL

And IIRC the Qantaslink flights are now using QLK flight numbers / callsigns so EAQ is probably (operating) history - which underlines the likelihood that this is a glitch.

QFA28 is the correct flight number / callsign for the flight: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/QFA28

Qantas Link:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QantasLink
Eastern Australia Airlines, Sunstate Airlines & Network Aviation are 100% owned by QF

AirLink (operated by Cobham Aviation Services Australia) operates B717's under the QF banner. Cobham is a seperate company and not QF owned

There's a problem with flightaware.

As globaliser indicated you need to type in QFA28 ....

To make it even more confusing the Jetstar (Eastern Australian Airlines) flights are SCR. For example AKL-NPE SCR357 is JQ357.
