Solomon mine

Hi there.

Qantas does charter flights from PER to Solomon mine, does Solomon mine have an IATA? If so, what is it?

Thanks.

Acording to gcmap.com it only has an ICAO code not an IATA code. I'm not up on these things, so I don't know the significance of this.

Are you sure?
According to gcmap.com SLJ is the IATA code for an airport called Chandler in Arizona

Of course, gcmap could be wrong...

So screech and wikipedia are correct, and gcmapper is wrong - SLJ is the IATA code for Solomon

There are also other traces on the Internet for IATA code SLJ referring to Hagler Army Airfield - see http://airportcodes.aero/slj/what-is...-army-airfield for example. I suspect that both this and Stellar Airpark (Chandler) result from a misinterpretation of something else.

Just FYI I've brought this to the attention of the owner of the GC Mapper, and he confirms that the code did change from Chandler to the mine, and has updated his site

hope this helps
