I have see reference to QF107 operated with a 388 and QF11 on the same day with a 744 but this would be extremely rare.
Thanks. How annoying. Oh well, I'd better put in for an upgrade to First then. I don't think I can handle another long flight on those awful Skybed Mk I seats!

Thanks for the info. Never have seen a seat map split like that between codeshares. Learn something new every day...

Nope. There are only going to be 9 of them - they are working hard on BNE and SYD/LAX and JFK, SCL, DFW, and SIN. It won't go as far as FRA.

That's too bad. Because I thought QF5 briefly makes a stopover in SIN and then going onward to FRA which makes this route an important one. It only makes sense to have refurbed 747 on this route.

QF has only refurbed 9 of 20 of its 747s, the remainder are too old and will be retired in the next few years.

Qf's premium routes are LAX,DFW,JFK and LHR (and maybe HKG). These routes will get the A380s and refurbed 747s.

The 6 ER's have to go to DFW and generally go to SCL, so now DFW is daily, you don't have surplus aircraft to go to Europe.

The non refurbished ones are left to routes like FRA and NRT.

Got a call from QF this evening to inform me of the change of aircraft from an A380 to a B744 on my flight from SYD to LAX at the end of October. Offered a change of day to be on the A380, which I accepted. I really don't want to be on a non-reconfigured aircraft with those crappy angled Skybeds for 14 hours.

So would QF107 on the 23rd of OCT (SYD-LAX-JFK) be a reconfig 747 with Mk II?

Cheers guys!

Yes, it is. EF shows no F and a J cabin at the very front for your flight.

Is there a row 4 in the J cabin?

Qf51 & qf 52

According to the QF website, during my upcoming trip to Europe in September I'll have the pleasure of flying on a reconfigured 744 on QF 51 (13/09/12) in seat 5J and coming back QF 52 (22/09/12) shows "old" configuration so I managed to reserve seat 1K in "first".

How precise is QF's air craft schedule 4 weeks out and how likely is it that the air craft will have to be substituted ? Am really looking forward to this trip after countless trips to Europe always flying "boring" A333 out of BNE to SIN.

Cheers from Brisbane,

pswissoz

Four weeks out you would be generally pretty safe with the reconfiguration - especially if the loadings indicate high sales in economy.
