Recently had a flight on Iberia, on QF site the Airline Earning table indicates that the booking class I flew is ´Economy´, I did earn 100% miles. However SCs only posted as Discount Econ. Is this new, or a glitch?
+ For domestic flights within Australia, Discount Economy includes Super Saver (classes L, M, S, V) Red e-Deal (class E, N, O) and fares booked in G, or Q. For international flights, Discount Economy includes classes B, E, G, H, K, L, M, N, O, Q, S, V, W.
# For domestic flights within Australia, Economy includes Fully Flexible (classes Y, B, H) and FlexiSaver (class K and W). For international flights, Economy is class Y. For travel on oneworld Alliance airlines or Air Pacific, Economy is class Y. For flights on Jetstar, Economy includes travel on Jet Flex fares. For flights on British Airways, Economy includes travel on World Traveller Plus fares. If you fly on a Flight Upgrade Award you will receive Status credits for the fare class originally purchased.

Iberia gives 100% miles on every Economy Booking-Class.
For status-credits you get Discount-Economy SCs unless booked in Y.
So for longer distances: Good for the Miles but bad for the Status-Credits.
For short Business Class flights (e.g. BCN-MAD): SCs are not very expensive,
but no minimum miles: Bad for the miles.
BTW: I like IB! Be sure to get seats in the front part of the cabin (where the seats can be converted to C! They offer significantly more pitch. The new Terminal in MAD is modern and efficient.
Speaking some words spanish helps a lot.
Ah then that's not very clear from the earning table.. it only lists 'Economy' and 'Business' for Iberia. Didn't realize there's a different economy for point earning vs SC's. But the SC page makes it clearer, if only in the fine print. I guess I have a bit more to go to earn Gold this year.
