Yes, I started watching my movie as soon as I was settled in
No G2G in Business Class or first row of economy as the screens are in arm. This is a shame, but really only 15 minutes either way of your journey as there is no headset collection so screens dont need to be stowed at top of descent - just for cabin preparation.
Now I've seen eoinnz's images, they look pretty good.
It must be a relief not to have to deal with the DVD's ...

Actually, active N/C in those black headphones is pretty much non existent.
(How to check? Turn volume right down to nothing while wearing them and unplug from dual pin socket - you will detect no change for in-ear noise [Try this with the Grey ones supplied with Skybeds and you'll notice the difference]).

Be nice to see this extended to AVOD long haul flights too... Sometimes it's a looooong time before it's switched on.
Interestingly, the silver ones are actually compatible with the business seats and should be loaded but it seems to be like getting blood from a stone from catering. Now I know the difference in quality I will note it my catering reports.
There seemed to be a lack of photos of the new 737-800 interiors and I so happened to be on one today, so took a few photos for you to enjoy.
The IFE is the same as the A380 however the selection is not as vast. There is no traditional controller like on the 747/A380. It is all via the touch screen except for volume, channel, home menu or screen off, where the buttons are located in the seat. There are still games but are simple touch screen games like trivia, hangman, card games etc
There is a flight path, however is different to the one featured on the A380
2 power ports to every 3 seats.
I unfortunately didn't get any in business class however it looks almost identical to the current seats on domestic 737-800 with the screen in the armrest and a more sleek finish.
I was always under the impression QF didn't do this because of safety concerns. They didn't want people to be distracted during take off and landing.
A UA FA once told me that headphones could not be on your head during takeoff and landing because the cord could become wrapped around your throat in the event of a crash / evac. Perhaps this is a new security threat that hasn't been considered by those who insist on plastic knives...
The same UA allows you to listen to ATC on their Channel 9 during takeoff and landing.
