AA yvr-lax-pek $1919usd

Saw this while trying to help somebody out with a EOY EQM request, might be useful for somebody else. Similar to the SAN-PEK fares from this thread.

Should earn around 29K EQMs on AA.

Note the warning about route being subject to government approvals and 7 day minimum stay.

Fare basis ILX0C8M1

For the AS fans it would earn around 22K EQM/RDM before MVP bonuses.

BAEC does not currently show any TP earnings for the LAX-PEK leg.

It's not a same day turn - Arrival is on Nov 8 and Departure is on Nov 14.

Looks like the fare went up on AA. But Korean Air is only ~$2100-$2300 with a superior product and can still credit to AS.

I don't recommend Korean Air. My Korean colleagues avoid it because of severe safety issues. I recently went to the Korean Air lounge at LAX and it was pathetic.

My questions: Is this deal only for PEK? Does this extend to other Asian destinations such as TPE, HKG, NRT/HND, SIN or BKK?

What is wrong with KE business class? It is highly preferable because it’s an Apex Suite Business Class as opposed to just an average reverse herringbone on AA. Not to mention the service and food are better on Korean.

Don't hold your breathe. I don't know why anyone would pick AA over KAL, especially if KAL is cheaper.
