Et lax-jnb $2395 usd

My wife @vbnet was messing around with business fares to South Africa and cam across this fare.

Sample dates July 17 out and July 31 back.

On GF it books to ET 505 to ADD and ET859 to JNB. Long layover and 737 to JNB.

I selected book on ET and was able to get ET505 and ET809 to JNB. 788 from LAX to ADD and A350 to JNB with a 4:20 layover in ADD. Same flights going back (ET808 and ET504).

Bookable on ET as a web special fare. Fare class P - No miles on UA.

Saw this one as well and though it was a decent deal. No UA credit is a big draw back.

Unless you credit to ET or CA

Decent fare, but keep in mind that ET505 stops over in Dublin and then continues on. I know because I got off the plane but my checked bag went on vacation to ADD.

Nice to see this one come back, though the downfall is the limited mileage accrual options.

IMO no worse that taking a bargain fare on an alliance you rarely or never fly. Some may wish to take 20+ hours in a business seat for $2400 (and no miles) instead of something like $1500 in a coach seat for 20K miles.

The last time I took an extended coach flight was PEK-ORD in UA Economy Plus (Y with a 34 inch seat pitch), It took me 20 or 30 minutes to get unkinked. Had a marathon with my chiropractor afterwards to get my back corrected.

I don't disagree with you.
