I Just found on Etihad Website, £1370 return CAI - NRT (June 18) on business flex and if you follow the Amex Plat offer (Business flex on Etihad will automatically be upgraded to First) then that works out to be a great deal!

Also Etihad are doing 2x Miles for Premium cabins "Book and travel by 12 December 2017"
So either First class upgrade via Amex plat or double miles in Business flex!?!

Ye, I spoke to Amex Plat travel yesterday and yes you do need to book via Amex. It will be an upgrade both ways if a return is booked. A business flex ticket needs to be booked in order to get the upgrade. As I was calling from the UK they mentioned my tickets need to originate out of UK
