They say low loads and no more 5th freedom rights to EBB. But seems not final.

It would be a very grim news as with QR, African nationals do not need a transit visa ( unlike European airlines) when passing thru DOH.

On the EBB-KGL-EBB sectors, when they launched the route in 2012, they surely had the most upmarket product against local airlines (U7,WB and ET). When i did a search back in 2014, yes i think the 5th freedom was already canx for ET and QR

That's a really good deal anyway, thanks for sharing

I'm getting a bit off-topic but in local news it was portrayed as a result of the Gulf states diplomatic problems and not the 5th freedom rights. And apparently the flights are back after the interruption.

Qatar Airways resumes Rwanda service, from 01st September 2017. Doha-Entebbe-Kigali- DOH Aircraft: A330-200 (from 1st to 30 September), A320 (from 01 November 2017), announced Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority in a tweet.

On another note, it's rare to stumble across Kigali on flyertalk. Are you guys in Kigali? I am! And I'm keen on meeting other flyertalk people if you're interested.

It all depends what is meant by security. To put in into perspective, according to the Gallup Global Law and Order report 2017, in the category "Safe Walking Alone at Night in Your Neighborhood" Rwanda is at the same score as Norway and Slovenia and above Denmark.

But yes, Rwanda is very safe, even for women travelling alone. It's one of its biggest selling point.

Wow. I was not expecting that. Good to hear they've made so much progress in recent times.
