Dl: Jfk-kef $1701 rt

Delta's advertising a D1 sale on their site; the best fare is a JFK-KEF biz fare that comes out to $1701 RT. Saturday night minimum, three-month max, 60-day advance purchase. DL flies 757s on this short route with flat-beds in a 2-2 alignment. There are LCC flights with EasyJet and WOW from the airport to the rest of Europe.

22MAR 18 OR 28OCT 18 THROUGH 13DEC 18 OR 24DEC 18
THROUGH 31MAR 19 FOR EACH TRANSATLANTIC SECTOR.
INBOUND -
PERMITTED 06APR 17 THROUGH 07APR 17 OR 30OCT 17 THROUGH

Can't believe anyone would pay $1700 for a 5.5hr flight.

Suspect JFK-LAX goes for more than this quite frequently.

Not lie flat....

Just flew this last week and it was normal domestic first class seats up front. Unless they're changing it by the time this sale takes effect, it is just normal recliner seats. Would never pay $1700 for that. There's not even a lounge in KEF (that DL pax can use)

Flights I'm looking at (sample 11/11-11/19) are showing flat beds in first, and I've flown this with flat beds in the past.

It's also a very heavy corporate contract and moneyed route.

That's just for the summer. Back to lie flat in the fall.

Was given an invite to Icelandair's Saga Lounge today.

Agree, not a fantastic deal being that on occasion you can pick this up for $2K from the west coast (eg, ex-SFO/SEA), but interesting fare rules that have dates referencing 2019.

If you combine with a LCC to most major cities in Europe, you can fly flat-bed over TATL with a short-hop in Y for under $2000 from the US. That's a deal.

You're going to be in (bad) coach for 2/3 of the trip and the flat bed flight isn't long enough to get near enough sleep (JFK-LHR is bad enough, and that's 800 miles longer). I'd probably rather take premium economy or something like La Compagnie for ~$1500.
No deal.

Not sure how you calculate you'll be in bad coach for 2/3 of the trip...

Did DL give it to you for your J return or was it from something else?

Could not have been anything else except for the fact I was flying first/business.
