AZ (KE metal) CAI- JAPAN for USD 1370

This is one of those ex-CAI fares that have been around for a while.

wide open availability for later in the year.

Example date: CAI- CTS Oct 24 - Dec 26

FCO-ICN leg will be on KE's new 747 J before switch to the old 777 product later in the year.

*** BUYER BEWARE***

this is a AZ issued ticket, which means this entails at least two major risks
1. AZ may run out of its government funding by the time you fly, and it may cease its operation

2. AZ may claim it's an obviously ***** fare, so may cancel uniltarerally.

Hei there,
about point 2), I think you're wrong. The fare has been around for a while and it has been filed more than one time in the past.
Of course, about 1) the risk is absolutely there.

Also be aware that AZ's CAI - FCO shorthaul J service is very uninspired....

unless you plan on flying before the end of the summer, it's absolutely nuts to ticket with Alitalia knowing that there's no real consumer protection when it goes belly up.

Just pay with a credit card, and use chargeback if things go south.

Agreed, credit card should protect you if AZ goes belly up.

Chargebacks have a time limit (is it 60 days?), so if you're going to rely on that, just don't purchase too far in advance.

Can you give me an example booking w/ 747? All A330 and 777 from what I can see.

Just 'finished' (haven't flown FCO-CAI) flying this fare with both legs on the 747-8i and 787-9 to Fukuoka. To minimize the risk, I did book this on DL-stock with AZ flight numbers for the 200% miles when crediting to Flying Blue. Only downside is that you aren't able to select your seats in advance. With some bad luck, you end up in the middle section, which you definitely want to avoid. Fortunately for me, I was able to grab a window seat without seatmate on the upper deck.

That's not how it works.

If the vendor fails to provide the service on the date that it was contractually obliged to do so, then you can claim your money back - regardless of when the money was paid.

The issuer of a UK credit card has unlimited liability for a supplier's breach of contract, including if the supplier ceases to exist. This is separate to any chargeback feature the issuer might offer. I expect other jurisdictions might have similar laws.

Also a lot of CC's have travel insurance included which should cover airline cancellations, I hope so anyway as I'm booked on the BKK-AMS fare ))

$1,443 CAI-FCO-ICN-NGO. FCO-ICN is KE 747, and ICN-NGO is KE 787. Sold as AZ codeshares though...don't think KE flight numbers can be had.
Thysk and glennhaak like this.

Great Deal! I did this last already once, full Az.
Business class is great experience, at Icn they taged my bag to Cai, no way to have it direct to Fco.
But is an easy solucion, just collect the bag in Rome.

I' d book this trip again, I m sure that there is son much intrest in the Italian Gov. about it.

I 've tried to book via Az web site, but Im able to get reservation only to Tok...
