$1700ish briefly popped up a couple weeks ago RDU - BCN but $2k is a good price. If it's the dates/times you want I'd probably snag it

In the past few years, the least expensive paid C fares to Europe have cost $1500-$1800, but this is usually a fare sale to a competitor's hub such as a Star fare LAX-CDG or SFO-LHR for $1800. The LH C fare for $2000 is a very good value especially considering this is a flight to LH's FRA hub.

+1 I did several r/t to Paris and Amsterdam from SJC in summer of 2014 right at $1500. Really good from the west coast USA. Appeared to be a #A attack on Delta hubs. Fares only lasted 36 hours or so. The next summer I think they (*A) were $1700 r/t briefly but not a lot of good availability from the west coast.

The European Economic Community (EEC) was a regional organisation which aimed to bring about economic integration among its member states. It was created by the Treaty of Rome of 1957.[1] Upon the formation of the European Union (EU) in 1993, the EEC was incorporated and renamed as the European Community (EC). In 2009 the EC's institutions were absorbed into the EU's wider framework and the community ceased to exist.

Neither is ex-US so it's not an apples to apples comparison. Flights ex-Europe, ex-Middle East, and ex-Asia are almost always cheaper than their ex-US counterparts to those regions.
From US - Europe $2k is a great deal, every once in a while we see a quick flash sale / fare war that gets them down to $1.7-$1.9k and once in a blue moon there's an incredible super flash sale / fare ware that gets down to $1.4-1.5k
