XiamenAir : LAX - CAN $1,843 RT

- cool price but what's XiamenAir Business CLass like?

- it's still available at some discounters but Orbitz reprices

- can't determine fare class yet

Anyone been able to book with a stopover in XMN?
And whenever I price it on the Xiamen US www site the China domestic legs come up in Y. Got to go to the next higher price to get business/first for the in-China legs.

Please bring lots of food. They barely serve you anything to eat in biz class. Seats very new and comfortable but the service is lacking.

Here is a review about Xiamen Business Class. Looks pretty good.

I would partially agree with this. I flew SEA-SZX-SEA and had no issues with quantity of food (although SZX-SEA we were served a "dinner" meal prior to landing rather than a "breakfast" meal. Def seemed odd.) The food was okay - not the greatest but not garbage either.

I would agree that the service is somewhat lacking when compared to other Asian carriers like SQ or CX or even KE. The best way to describe the service was "earnest" - the FAs tried hard even if they were not a finely tuned team.

In summary, I've had better biz class experiences, but I have also had worse.

Thanks. I'm seriously considering this. I was looking at some decent but long-available deals on KE from either YYZ or YVR, but Xiamen has better earning potential for DL SkyMiles and MQMs. And I'd still save a couple of hundred bucks too.

As long as the cabins are relatively as comfortable as KE, then I think I'm in.

Chinese airports (excl. PEK, PVG, CAN) rarely supply 'Western breakfast' due to limited international departures with two meal services. International business class not on a budget airline, which is already rare, can usually get away with serving lunch instead of breakfast short haul.

Since there are the only 5x 'two-meal' flights weekly(3x FRA, 2x SEA) from Shenzhen, I doubt the airport even supplies a breakfast menu. I also don't think they care about the difference between lunch and dinner.

Xiemen should be slightly better with meals, as XMN serves quite a few long haul flights- still, be prepared with some snacks

Has anybody been able to purchase this? If so, how?

I can get my preferred itinerary - or at least an acceptable one - to price out on Matrix, but I'm having a verrrry difficult time getting it to either price or book anywhere else.

On xiamenair.com, I can't do an open jaw, I get an error every time I try it.
I tried then just a simple round trip YVR-SZX-YVR and got all the way to the end and was told I could only make reservations 10 months in advance (this is for next March.) I guess I'm only a couple of days away though.

On delta.com, it reprices to $4800.

On orbitz and travelocity, it reprices to $3000.

On priceline, it prices correctly but the long-haul segments are listed as Economy.

Great price to SHA as well, with short connection times. Orbitz, Expedia, etc. are all pricing this.
