It can be done for little over 2000 ... I am considering this for couple of weeks but still have not pulled the trigger https://goo.gl/flights/q46w

Pls, don't, this is a legacy fare and is likely to be removed the moment it is looked better at. It is perfectly bookable online.

has anyone tried booking with a stopover at LAX or CDG either way (or both ways)?

fare code rules state that one stopover is allowed per direction at $80 each.

I looked it up at KAYAK and they offer booking via Travelocity and/or Orbitz. Give it a try.

so I was able to add the stopover each way in LAX. I see the base fare go up by $80 or so each way which is expected per the fare rules. However, I see the YQ balloon from $360 to $740 plus there are extra taxes associated with the stopover. i wonder why the YQ goes up that much.

so overall, price goes from $2k without stopovers to about $2600 with stopovers. still not sure if I should jump on it. If the fare only went up by $200 or so, i would have jumped on it. at $2600, i'm on the fence.
