AA: Sea - PUJ P/I fare. $675
Wide open. Routing thru phl or lax available. Seeing some lie flat available on some segments. As a bonus it seems to be bookable using thank-you points as well.
Same day turns also.

AA is quoting me 15,000 EQM which seems fantastic for this price.
Thanks!

Ok... I ended up booking this out of SFO so as not to lose it. I've been looking for an AA mileage run on the weekend of Friday Oct 21st - Sunday October 23rd and this is by far the best I've found to this point. If anyone knows of something better that weekend let me know.
I'm flying out Friday Oct 21st and am back at SFO by the evening of Saturday Oct. 22nd.
Total cost was $668 and AA says I will be receiving 16,102 EQM's for this trip. Trip is full of A321 except for the A330 from PUJ to PHL.

When you disembark at PUJ into the arrivals corridor there is a well signposted transfers route (head the other way to the main immigration, its in a side room off the main corridor), where you will find a couple of extremely bored security staff. They will write your connecting flight details down on a list and give you a cursory security check, and you will then be in the bus departures gate area and can walk upstairs to the main gates. Total time from disembarking to being back at the gate, around 4 minutes.

Which segments do you see lie-flats on? I was under the impression lie flats are only on LAX/SFO-JFK routes

It's possible to do back-to-back at PUJ, assuming that you can check in for your return flight in advance and get a boarding pass printed either from an AAgent or OLCI somewhere before you leave the US. The MCT for Int/Int is 60 minutes, so if the turnaround is more than that you can go back on the same aircraft with it all booked on one ticket.

Please explain more about the tourist card? I had not seen that requirement yet. I'm just doing a same day (1.5 hour) turnaround, so does it apply?

You only need to buy the tourist card if you are entering the country, you queue up to buy that at booths before you get to immigration. If you are using the connecting flights route you don't go through immigration just security and therefore you don't need to buy the tourist card.

Having just completed this mileage run I have decided a couple things.
1. Sadly the process didn't work anything like Airprox mentioned. Yes the airport security had no clue what they were doing, but it resulted in mass confusion and delays. I wouldn't recommend PUJ for back to back flights.
2. American airlines planes, gate agents, and flight crews were so utterly horrible on this mileage run I have decided to give up being loyal to an airline all together. Going forward I'm just going to get the best international business class deals I can to places I want to go when I want to go. No more random mileage runs to get status. In the long run it ends up costing more time and more money than its worth to secure those System Wide Upgrades. From now on I'd rather have the flexibility to fly whatever airline offers the most comfortable lie flat seats for the best price on the route I need to travel on and never have to worry about loyalty again.
