CX/AA: LAX-HKG-MEL RT $2019 in PE 35.5K EQMs
Can someone do a sanity check on this?

This is just inside the 5's for cpm... but haven't seen this fare this close to $2k before (maybe someone else has).

EQM = 35,550 by my calc's on AA
EQD = 4740


Example pricing at $2019, currently:

Stopovers in HKG seem to be allowed with PE tickets. So could do multisegment and have it price nearly the same.

Your math is spot on. And I would recommend a stopover after the 14+ hr LAX-HKG leg.

Sounds like an interesting deal. It gives you day and half in Melbourne. Priced out to be about $200 more from Chicago.

Prices from SFO are under USD2100 with quick turnarounds for certain dates. Tempting, but not sure I can handle that much travel in a PE cabin. Decisions, decisions.

Available on JL for a bit more...comes with access to Sakura/common lounge, 42" seat pitch, and imo better soft product.

When I try to book the CX site says no AA miles. Does this mean it fare doesn't qualify for AA miles? Its coded as E so doesn't really make sense.

did you find the answer to this? it appears to be a valid fare from ITA.. I just want someone to confirm before I book it.

Nice deal, you can also get the same price with a multi city (stopovers) booking. My sample dates

LAX HKG 2/21
HKG MEL 3/3
MEL LAX 3/5

Class "E" fare, will give me 110% of Miles on LATAM

Looks like MLE, KUL, CGK also have $1700-1900 for PE on CX. Do 2 of these and you are 50% way towards AA EXP.

just purchased JFK-HKG-MLE and MLE-HKG-YVR-JFK for $1600 ai. HKG-MLE segments book into business. a big thanks for this find! looking forward to my first trip to the maldives
