You are right, there are some rare exceptions with A333s. But vast majority of intra-Asia are 737s. All of those flights are dry, in my recent experience.

To each one it's own, but I do prefer TZs brand new 787s Business to the MH sad offering for the same price.

Yes, they've gone pretty much dry for flights under 3 hours or so, essentially intra-South East Asia (though maybe not KUL-SIN?). The 737 is their short-range aircraft of choice, so it makes sense that flights using those are dry.

However, the 737 also flies other longer, though less popular, routes as well which are most definitely not so, including I believe KUL-HK, KUL-India, BKI-NRT and the like.

The A330 is their main long-range aircraft (other than the A380s they currently still operate) for now, and as pointed out, those will have alcohol on board as well.

If you're really concerned, you can always carry your own stash... or use the lounges pre-flight which still stock up.

My recent BKK-KUL was dry.

KUL-CMB was not.

Had no complaints really with the planes or the service. Certainly better than what I get flying in the US.

Not that when it was "wet" previously, MH's choice of booze would be laudable anyway. In regional J, it would've been just one "standard" red + white + champagne.
