You can stopover in the outbound and then do an immediate turnaround in JNB if you want to stay in Europe instead of JNB and do some extra flying. The same KLM flight/plane is in JNB for 2h so that should work for the turnaround.

The fares to India have been around for awhile, but you are right that *A is matching these African fares now

As far as I can tell for the *A fares to Southern Africa there is a minimum 10 stay. Also, I can't seem to find it with a stopover in Europe for more than 24 hours without the fare price jumping $500 USD.

yyz-fra-jnb-fra-yyz is $3200cnd in Business class. There seem to be many ways to get 200% Qualifying miles on United so its almost 40,000Q
I didn't try a stopover.

i personally do not mind the AF angle flat, however the A380 J cabin is fairly cavernous and not very private at all...
