Etihad - SYD/MEL to Europe AUD5295 in J

Just saw this. I never see many specials from Sydney so thought others might be interested in this.

I haven't fully investigated it

Sure you can get cheaper such as China Airlines but they are not the quality of Etihad.

This fare (or close to it, closest I can get via regular sites is 5300) involves two changes in AUH and BEG. The AUH - BEG and BEG - XXX legs tend to be on Air Serbia, so for the most part only a third of this fare is on Etihad metal.

Would be interested to see if someone can price this out to other destinations purely on EY but not sure it's possible.

On an aside - for those who click through and see advertised prices of 42XX as the cheapest J fare, these are on China Southern and also involve two changes.

It's available on http://flights.etihad.com/en-au/flights-from-australia as well.

MEL-CDG in J for AUD 5112.00 in October for example. All EY (incl. one on A380).

Thanks, the MEL-CDG route does work out cheaper all on EY.

Do you have dates for the 5112 fare, cheapest I can get it to is 5363 and that's under the ZXHOTAU (Midweek business class promotional fares, Sunday through Thursday, book by 31 July)

Try outbound on October 12 and return October 25 for example. $10 extra for 2 A380 legs.

Sadly that's a good deal ex Australia!

The new business studio on the A380 and 787 is great as well. Soft product is hit or missomething though.

From memory I thought it was somewhere between 7 and 9k but I don't have historical data to back that up.

Disingenuous of EY to say 50% off. More like 20% off usual Z fare.

What's even more competitive is this fare on US routes - yes, it's the long way around but not by much to US east coast - and in superior comfort to AA and even QF. Just no chauffeur on these Z fares from EY - recent, and reasonable, change. Defy you to find $5,400 to US east coast on a top carrier. I'm in to D.C. and out of JFK. Mixture of 789, 380, and 77W. Lovely...
