Another ridiculous EY J deal! Why are all the ex-EU EY J deals almost always to the two countries I dont want to visit! (Thailand and China)

I looked at dates in March for Syd, and Qatar is cheaper, just under 2000. Similar sale?

Please note that the BEG-AUH leg is always on a A319 (Air Serbia) or A320 (Etihad). Go for the A320 one if you can.

Perhaps consider use of "Premium Stopover" - with J class ticket, you get one night for free in AUH. With outbound flights, they connect great from A320 arrival on EY metal to AUH; however, on the way back, most Asian arrivals are in the early morning hours (4-6 AM), and (JU) A319 connects to those. EY A320 departure is the following night/evening at around 2:30 AM, with also early morning arrival into BEG. Good for connecting to a positioning flight the same day.

Some OTAs will offer this long connection in AUH - etihad.com doesn't, you need to do a Multi city search, and force a stopover in AUH. Sale prices still apply without any surcharge.

JU J class is fine, it's a proper J class, not the Eurobiz thing, but still I find the EY product better. More pitch, even though both seats are not lie flat, I prefer the EY menu, however in JU there is a chance of more private service (8 J class seats vs. 16 in EY). JU metal will earn guest/tier miles and segments as if you were flying with EY, though.

If you wanted more time in AUH or Dubai you can build stopovers into this fare too which could make it more interesting, price jumps to 913 euro with both Dubai and Abu Dhabi 5 day stays
