Maputo appears to be a very economical location for buying airfares in general. Does anyone have a recommendation for a local Maputo T/A? TIA!

For those interested, MPM is one of the best places to start a RTW trip. DONE4 fares are currently $2724 base fare if begun in MPM. As an ex-MPM fare, this would really only make sense to do as a RT fare coupled with a RTW fare.

Points to MPM, MPM-NA/break/NA-MPM, MPM-RTW

It would be ambitious, but we are a notoriously ambitious bunch

I booked one of these, my question is if I can call Emirates directly and have them rebook me so I can stopover in DXB for longer than a few hours. I read the fare rules and unlimited stopovers are allowed.

Hi, having issues getting this RTW to work. Can you give me a sample itinerary that you booked?

Just checked a random date next year MPM-LAX and prices seem to have come down to $2364 round trip and $3964 for rountrip.

Under $4k for round trip in emirates F with 16hrs on a A380 and 8hrs in a 777 is pretty freaking insane.

Is this regulation still applicable?

Can be found in SA regulations from 2006 and LH regulations 2009 (hopefully no longer the case).

It is not in fare rules unlike some other restrictions (ie sale in Venezuela etc), so i guess not a current restriction anymore.

IATA Resolution 024c, Section C: the acceptance of tickets
issued outside Mozambique is prohibited for journeys
commencing in Mozambique. The issuance of tickets in
Mozambique is prohibited for journeys commencing outside
Mozambique (6.4.93).

For those interested, the same price for a o/w also holds for MPM-JNB-DXB-SYD, and for about $300 more, onto AKL *edit - just noticed somebody already mentioned this upthread - apologies *

For a lot less (but no A380), you can do MPM-EZE for 1,791 USD as MPM-JNB in J, JNB-DXB-GIG-EZE in EK F, 777
