Bummer I was trying to get ba from Yvr to Helsinki or even Yvr to Lhr but can't get the cheap fare. Works great if I do AMS but unfort that's not my destination!

C$2800 to HEL - seems pretty good.

If you want to go to LHR, try going to BHX. Not that far up the road and gets you around the extra $2k+ to fly no stops to LHR.

If I put in YVR-BHX, BA responds with

We are unable to find seats for your journey. The most common reasons for this are:
You may have requested a route that we do not operate at that time of year.
We may not fly to the destination you have chosen.
What you can do:
Search again using different dates.

Why not fly into another airport and simply switch to a discount EU carrier? (e.g. Ryanair or easyJet) There are numerous cities included in the sale that are fairly close to HEL, including LED and ARN.

Well, I did log in, but still got that error message. Do you have to have elite status on BA or something to get it?

That's also the reason I haven't pulled the trigger on this deal yet.

Just to confirm - the A380 from YVR is for summer only.

I have tried CARDOFFERC and CARDOFFERU a half-dozen times each, both while logged in to my BA account and not. No dice. I'm still wondering if there's some sort of stipulation not directly spelled out, e.g. having X number of Avios miles.

I admittedly haven't been to Vancouver in quite a while, but I checked ticket prices between both LAX-YVR and AUS-VYR before I booked. Even for a flight less than a week away, I found a $230 r/t fare out of LAX (nonstop on AS), and $250 fares in June were readily available. Unfortunately ex-AUS fares apparently went up just in the past 24 hours, but even from there I was seeing r/t for $270 or so. (All USD btw.)

they probably can tell you're not in CAnada so can't use the cardofferC code or maybe the Canadian site does a better job checking to make sure that the person logged in has the RBC card. I can get it to apply the discount, but I also have the card.
