Just booked the following ticket in business (I class) to make my way to Executive Plat:
DCA-SJU-JFK-LAX-JFK-SJU-JFK-LAX-JFK-SJU-DCA.
Total cost $1316.60 [Plus $180 for the DCA-SJU-DCA portion, thanks to the JetBlue Halloween special and an economy fare SJU-DCA flight back on AA].
Total EQP: 25,417. All the transcontinental legs in lie-flat.
DCA-SJU-JFK-LAX-JFK-SJU-JFK-LAX-JFK-SJU-DCA.

IIRC the Ritz Carlton is across the street from SJU. Certainly not the nicest Ritz in the system, but still a nice place. Could make for a pleasant weekend, even if at double the nightly rate you're paying.

Thanks for posting this. I'm still considering a way to get this challenge done - this was well timed considering I'm thinking of dumping AC and moving to oneworld, so ideas like this one are very welcome!

So are these 3 independent RT from JFK to LAX, then RT to SJU, then RT to LAX?

I couldn't construct it in Google flights because there wasn't enough entry space to force connections in JFK. But you can construct it in Matrix as 4 separate legs, each with a forced connection in JFK on AA [AA+ JFK in advanced routing field]

Inspired by others in this thread, I put this MR together to make my 2nd year as EP:
EWR-CLT-SJU-JFK-LAX-JFK-SJU-MIA-EWR
Prices out at $1,386.50 USD on Expedia.
12,279 miles which, with the current bonus for double EQP will net 24,558 EQP.
Plus 2x long flight bonus of 3,500 and 2x short flight bonus of 500 adds 8,000 RDMs.
So as an EP, should net 44,837 RDMs for 3.0cpm.
With SWUs and a friend in LA, this should be a fun MR since I've never been to PR before. And it's over a weekend as well.
Does everything look good with my math?
