Any chance you've had some success - or anyone else - pricing it out like that?
I've got the A fare to do it, I didn't really try too much with the I fare. I suspect it's the HIP check unfortunately. I don't know why the A fare is not susceptible to the HIP check though.

The C fare says:
HIP/MILEAGE EXCEPTIONS NO HIP OR MILEAGE EXCEPTIONS APPLY.
The A fare says:
HIP/MILEAGE EXCEPTIONS NO HIP OR MILEAGE EXCEPTIONS APPLY.
No idea what's happening here.

There are some points that are exempt from HIP checks. These are buried deep in the general tariff conditions of AA. Based on the screenshots here, PAR is the one.

And this only applies on A fares and not I fares on otherwise identical routes?

I've tried for days to get a stopover included in the US. Europe is no problem but no joy at all in the US.

Interesting route indeed. I like the inclusion of Key West. Are you overnighting there<24 hours? I always wanted to visit, but never found the right fare..

Yes I have 20 hours in Key West , land at 1400pm and leave at 10am.

Fare was £940 and includes a weekend in SXM and nets me my OW sapphire card for another 22 months and 21k Avios

You can go crazy in Key West in 20 hours. You won't want to leave again! I suggest you stay up all night to enjoy it and maximise. Or, you can book a berth at the youth hostel associated with the Seashell Motel to kip for a while and save good money.

I can get EU-US//US-CAR//CAR-US-EU to price out in First.

But, for some reason, I cannot build in that second stopover in the US during the return portion. Has anyone been able to?

Calchas, any tricks/hints you could share, please?

Its really difficult to say. Depends on what the rule is saying but no one seems to know what the rule is...

What i found just now in LH conditions (not very relevant but interesting):

HIP exceptions by countries
Africa
For journeys wholly between Kilimanjaro and Nairobi, HIP check will be for all
ticketed points.
India
For traffic originating in India and destined to Canada/ USA, when stopovers are
taken in Europe or UK, higher intermediate fares shall not be applicable from points
in Europe/ UK to Canada/ USA.
Israel
For travel originating in Israel, HIPs will be checked for all ticketed points from Israel.
This does not apply to the HIP check from an intermediate point to another
intermediate point or the fare construction point, or to fares with specified routings.
EXAMPLE:
Travel: Tel Aviv-Frankfurt-X/London-New York
The HIP check is TLV-FRA, TLV-LON and FRA-NYC. (LON-NYC is not checked.)
Malawi
For journeys originating in Malawi, the HIP check in each fare component shall be
applied on all ticketed points in Malawi.
Turkey
For travel between the Middle East and Turkey involving more than one point in
Turkey, any higher intermediate point in Turkey must be charged whether or not a
stopover is taken.
Western Africa
For journeys originating in Western Africa, the HIP check in each fare component
shall be applied on all ticketed points in Western Africa.

Oh and, enjoy!!

I picked up 3 different runs on this.
I'm based in a Delta hub in the US so I'm not sure where to credit the miles, BA or AA?
