Would be interested to see any counter-examples in J.

May work for F but in I still can't get a USA stopover without bumping up the fare considerably

I was planning to take my kids to the Canaries for October half term, but checked on this just in case--my trip was US$1940 and the child fare only $1578. F outbound (sitting in a lot of J) and J inbound, AAJIPI. All in J came to $1600ish.
I wasn't able to get either direction via LHR so my TATLs are only in a 772 and 757 but I figured that was good enough for a relatively short-notice journey starting on day one of a school holiday.
Thanks, OP

I think I've run around in circles so much I've ended up confusing myself.
One cannot book EU-US//US-Caribbean//Caribbean-US//US-EU, correct?
My confusion is the fare rules stating two stop-overs are allowed; I've got myself convinced these are in addition to the destination, but am I incorrect?
Sigh ... too much FT'ing does one's head in

And the views of jets landing right over your head is lots of fun.
Technically there is an I:I transit available if you have your onward BP but I'm not sure if it would work for a straight turn.

Hey abitwild, how did you find your fare? Try to find it on aa.com and on ebookers without a result...

When adding e.g. MIA for a stop the HIP check // HIP rule applies here and that's the reason why the price is raising up
adding PARIS will not effect the HIP rule as you can see in your example

EDIT: That one does not include the flat bed, use the multi city option on the AA.com website, I just tried it and it worked for me.

Hi Calchas,
I've played around with this a bit the past couple of days, and simply cannot get it to price correctly with a stopover in the US each way. I thought that's what the fare says; but, regardless of date, I am left with fares substantially higher.
Any chance you've had some success - or anyone else - pricing it out like that?
