Binary thanks, will double check this as Seatguru says it is just a reclinable. Will try other dates.

Do you have some example dates including a stop over?

I've managed to price this out, but the problem is since one of the segments is on BA, I can't put it on hold on aa.com.

Anyone knows if this fare will last till Jan 27? I was thinking of calling since this seems to be a legit fare (matched by all alliances) and hold it.

PS: If you want the 12,000 RDM bonus, the DFW-HNL flight works well And you get a 763 instead of a 757 from LAX!

I've read conflicting info re A and C fares on AA. Most of what I've read includes them, but I saw one asterisk that says A and C only count on the non-AA carriers. Still unsure which is correct. And even if they do count, discounted fares don't get the full 12000, do they?

I'm flying elsewhere almost all the permitted dates. I might be able to look at NOV though...

Yes. The stopover fare rule - you can only have 2 connections in the US (so no routing via LHR etc.). e.g. DUB-JFK-LAX (destination) LAX-ORD (stopover) ORD-DUB works.

A and C fares on AA doesn't count if you use SWU/miles to upgrade since it re-books into those classes. Paid domestic A counts.

This is a regularly repeated fare, it is not a mistake.

A competent travel agent or contact at BA can hold the seats for you for three days. It is permitted on the fare although BA like to pretend it isn't.

As it books into I, isn't it 3500 bonus?

Also, for some reason I don't have the option to put it on hold with AA even without a BA flight included.

Domestic flights, if booked on AA code, is booked into A/P for 2-cabin aircraft.

I don't know why you can't put it on hold. It worked for me fine yesterday.

Ah, I understand what you meant about the fare codes now. I worked from from what I saw, rather than what could be possible, a fault that has bitten me several times in the miles game

I didn't find any ex DUB flights with a domestic >3000 miles so it didn't occur to me that someone else would. For any dates I tried, TATL and transcon both booked into I, all flights to and from HI were in A but <3000. Apologies.

And on the hold issue, a long chat with web services got it sorted, it had to do with using the Irish site while my cookies said I was in US. Confused the site and gave them a 'ghost' of my PNR. Agent was able to recreate, and all is now booked.
