Dl/af/klm nyc-dxb $3200
Hey guys,
Long time lurker, first post. Does this constitute a good deal.
JFK-CDG-DXB - AF
DXB-AMS-EWR - KLM/DL
J for over/under $3200
I've been looking for a while and it seems to usually be around $5-6k.
Thanks!

Many thanks dieuwer2 I wasn't sure if it was a good deal or just average.
I was hoping it would drop below $3k but when I saw this I had to jump.
Anyone ever see this fare for lower?

Check this out, Even better deal and better planes, JFK/EWR/LGA to DXB via ATL, Dec 25 to Dec 28 for $3109.00. this is a much better deal because you get to/from DXB via ATL so you get the 14 plus hour flights in a guaranteed flat bed, direct aisle access seat. On KLM from DXB to AMS you get a flat bed but no direct aisle access. With AF through CDG, its a crap shoot, they only started doing mods this past June

Sadly I'm constrained to the dates I needed in March.
It shouldn't be too bad though. I double checked seat maps/operating aircraft.
Jfk-CDG is the new cirrus on af
CDG-dxb is the same as of early Feb, both are on the 773
Dxb-Ams is on the klm 747 and I checked that 1a was available, a seat on its own at the front of the nose!
Ams-NYC is on Delta 764, also 1a so should be good to go!
There were other options, and the DL flight through Atl was one, but the total flight time was actually longer and it left at a night, getting into NYC the following morning. I wanted to be back on the same day.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I dove in thinking it was a good deal, not necessarily incredible, but really pretty good and new products to try.

if your locked into your dates then not much you can do. In fact, all flights leaving DXB leave at night and get back the same day. The DL flight leaves at 11:00 PM so technically, its a different day but only by an hour. Total flight time through ATL into LGA is just south of 20 hours. DXB to ATL leaves at 2300 hours, connects through ATL the following day, then the LGA flight lands at 0942 hours on Monday. AF through Paris leaves DXB at 0115 hours, connecting through CDG and landing at JFK at 11:15, KLM through AMS at 0130 hours so going through ATL works better for me. I'd rather leave earlier in the day. Being a Plat IHG member, it should be easy to get a late check out and then hang out in the skyteam lounge for a few hours before the flight to ATL. So, in reality, the Delta flights might leave the day before the AF/KLM but only by 2 1/2 hours respectfully and the total flight time is only a net difference of 45 minutes.
The other major thing to consider is getting this trip in before the new year will earn you an additional 15,000 or so skymiles, thanks to the new 2015 skymiles rules.
