so handcuffs are not on the list but they will be confiscated as a prohibited item due to "screener discretion" (you know it's like the categaory of "other duties as assigned"). so if a leo is "escorting" someone , i suppose that the guest's handcuffs must come off, right? sorry folks, i got up on the silly side fo the bed this morning...wheeeeeeeeeee

morons-just absolute bloody morons.

handcuffs are not specifically mentioned as to being prohibitied or not but these items are allowed.

Toy Weapons - if not realistic replicas.
Screwdrivers (seven inches or less in length)
Scissors - metal with pointed tips and blades shorter than four inches in length.

anyone care to tell me the last time they saw a "non-realistic replica toy gun"

again, morons-just absolute bloody morons.

I work for TSA and I know for a fact they are allowed and let them through all the time. As a matter of fact, all planes have them or other restraints in the cabin for use of the F/A in an emergency.

you know what you're doing and kudos for that ^ but remember, in this world of consistent inconsistencies, the bottom line is that if it's outside the view of the blinders, it's checked bags or "do you want to fly today" and sadly most pax either check-it of dump it

Unbelievable! Makes me wonder if they'd also confiscate our feathers.

Maybe if you got a screener who wanted to take them home. Perhaps the TSA employment application should ask about the applicant's fetishes?

winter of 92/93, my super soaker 100 was not allowed (google it if you dont know that they dont look anythhing like a realistic replica). although this was done at checkin rather than security.

Im as kinky as the next person and have had to work with many folks flying across the nation with their toys-the growing feeling is for more and more adult use stuff just sent it to yourself. If you pack it in your checked bag so many things are gone, if you carry it on the other risks are a pain.

Hope you had a fun weekend ;-)

Might as well check them, just to be sure.

By the way, I loved you and your husband in "Super Troopers".

Pre 9/11, we had to check a toy sword, but a light sabre was allowed. I suspect they have a similar distinction in mind for "guns".

Come on, the TSA is not all that bad. Remember the first exception they made so quickly when all this silly liquid stuff was first introduced...KY Jelly.
