Flying with Gooey Food
Hey all,
I've been spending a lot of time in the DFW area lately and found these wonderful grilled avocados loaded with meat, cheese and a gooey queso-barbecue sauce. It's also served with rice and refried beans.
My wife's been wanting me to bring her some home, but then I thought about TSA. I'm thinking the queso sauce and refried beans may be a problem. Will they still confiscate "liquid" or "gel-like" food if they can't determine the quantity? The last thing I want is to bring it in and not have it be permitted - though I'm sure it'd make a hungry screener quite happy.
What's the latest?
Thanks,
Super

I had a TSO at ORD give me flack for a Pistachio Butter & Jelly on sourdough sandwich my friend's wife made me. Was fine at EWR but not at ORD.
So, I ate it on the spot and it was delicious.

Great, so the usual TSA subjectivity.
Boggie, you can get them at either Chiloso Mexican Bistro or Oscar Delta. Chiloso's set up more like a Chipotle type place, while Oscar Delta is more of the sit-down type with a full service bar. Both are owned by the same folks.
It was recommended by one of the local guys I work with down here.
I usually go to the one in Rockwall, but there are several Chilosos around. There's one not too far from DFW. The avocados are really good with the slow roasted pork at Chiloso. Oscar Delta does their meats a little different - but they had a BBQ brisket that went good with them.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
