Thanks for that. The reason I asked is because I have toured the TSA checked bag room at MCO while TSO’s were examining bags. No “secret sauce” that I was made aware of and definitely cameras that (presumably) run 24/7. The only thing noteworthy was that the cameras were installed only a few years ago.

AFAIK, what had been a problem with theft from bags is not anymore. While it is possible that an item removed from a bag was not placed back into it, this would be rare because they examine only one bag at a time. What I suppose is possible is that an item could fall to the floor and not be noticed by the TSO. This is another reason why the cameras can be helpful.
