ORD Pre-Check opens for AA

First day of TSA Pre-check at the AA First Class checkin. A ton of suits standing around, observing, handing out leaflets explaining how to join pre-check. I was allowed to go through the precheck lane and there was zero fuss about my NEXUS card. :-D

Sweet, now ORD just needs to figure out how to schedule flights properly :-P

Remember, you'll never get "LLL" if you have any international segments associated with your PNR, even if all of your travel that day is wholly domestic.

For those of us who mostly travel internationally.....

Is that confirmed policy or just overwhelming experience?

I just did several web searches and all I can see is that the pre-check is restricted to domestic flights while it is in a test basis. Here is a quote from the UA website ...

"The goal of the program is to test expedited security screening for some passengers traveling within the U.S." (highlights mine)

The AA web page indicates it is restricted to domestic destinations but also highlights that it is currently a test expedited screening program.

I couldn't find a Delta page that discussed any details on it, but I don't have a Delta FFP account.

On the TSA's web pages, it makes no statement about the program being exclusively for domestic destinations.

I am hoping it will expand to international destinations by the end of the year or so.

"Travelers that participate in certain trusted traveler initiatives at US Customs and Border Protection, such as Global Entry, also can join PreCheck, although PreCheck remains available only for domestic US flights to date. Pistole explained that he wants to be certain TSA gets thoroughly comfortable with PreCheck processes before expanding it to international flights." (bolding mine)
