Question APIS Info for Pax landing in US and entering Canada

Hi!

I have a question I am flying into Washington from Doha connecting to Detroit.

My Final Destination is Windsor, ON CANADA.

I will be arriving in Detroit by 6:40 PM and travelling on to Windsor across the river into Canada.

Do I need to have an address in the US for giving APIS information or can I transit into Canada .. without having to provide that information.

Thanking you.

Regards

Daniel

You should write in transit via land to Canada on the APIS I guess. If asked by CBP show confirmation that you will stay in Canada etc.

There is also another issue with this I guess. IF you are travelling on VWP the departure overland may not be properly recorded, but I do not know enough about that to say for 100% sure. I94W was eliminated when travelling by air, but not when entering on land border crossings. If you are travelling on a visa you will fill out an I94 anyway so that is no problem.

Make sure that Canadian immigration collects your I-94 on the way into Canada.

Well actually if you are in Canada for less than 30 days you do not need to hand in your I94. Just keep it if that is the case, it makes things easier when reentering the United States when going back.

It might save you an entry fee too.
