Take Your Kids to Work Day at DHS HQs

Here's a little humor for everyone because we always need it, from one of the internal news bulletins that are sent out.

Hundreds of DHS employees brought their children to work on Thursday as part of a national campaign to allow children to experience, first hand, where their parents or guardians work.

At TSA more than 200 young people between the ages of 8 and 18 participated in the day’s activities, which included opening remarks by Acting Administrator Gale Rossides, technology and wanding demonstrations, canine demonstrations, a theater presentation, and an ice cream social. Also, University Park Airport, located in State College, Pa., hosted events that involved many TSA employees who work at the airport and their children.

A 'wanding demonstration'? Seriously??? Isn't there anyone @ DHS w/even an ounce (much less 3.4 of them) of sense?

Should we start a pool on how many times '9/11' (TM) was invoked during the opening remarks, btw?

Mommy/Daddy's take on why it's so easy to evade "security":

"Not my job!"

You must have missed the announcement about DHS' new HQ

Elizabeths Hospital in Washington was founded in 1852 as an insane asylum. It is the site of a $3.4 billion headquarters for the Homeland Security Department, the largest public building project since the Pentagon during World War II.
