Exclamation Mineta to speak in Santa Monica, CA

U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta will be the commencement speaker at Santa Monica College’s graduation June 15 at Corsair Field.

Mineta, appointed to his position by President Bush in January 2001, oversees an agency with 60,000 employees and a $56.3 billion budget. Created in 1967, the U.S. Department of Transportation has missions in air, maritime and surface transportation.
