FAA to relax ban on use of in-flight personal electronics Read

oh boy..... Im really not looking forward to people on their cellphones. Hopefully UA will implement some sort of rule that will prevent actually talking on your phone.

i guess you did not really read the article.

"While the study group is reportedly still in discussions over the finer details, cellphone calls are expected to continue to be off limits."

i'm not worried. this is actually good news. i love listening to my music while taking off/landing.

I'm glad to see that arcane rule perish. This probably belongs in a different forum.

And takeoff/landing is usually the only peace I get after having to listen to someone's music blaring through their headset for three hours. Or listening to someone's kid who won't wear headphones watching a movie with the volume turned up. I'll hate to see this rule disappear.

I'll believe it when it happens.

After all, just a few weeks ago, TSA (the 'security' experts) announced they were going to relax other rules - short souvenir bats, ski poles, golf clubs, and a very limited set of knives the size of scissors that have been permitted for some time now.

For some reason, FA objections to knives caused TSA (allegedly) to pull back the relaxed rules on all of the items.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear objections from the FA union.

It'll be so nice not to have to have to browse Skymall instead of just continuing to read my book.

My thoughts exactly. Last summer when I flew home I'd loved to have been able to take a few pics of how bad the midwest drought was but couldn't because of this silly rule.

+1 Keep the damn cell phones off. I don't want to hear someone's conversation.

Deep breaths, folks.

Ruling delayed until late September, per Reuters.

Right, no talking on cell phone during the flight. You can't be used the cell phone. You have wait for landing.

This video seems topical right about here. Women in NC thrown off a plane for cell phone use.

NSFW - reasonable amount of profanity.
