Opt out experience in Burbank

I tried to SDOO, but was directed to the MMW. I told the guy I opt out, he asked why and I told him medical reasons. He called a guy over who tried to talk me out of opting out, saying this was MMW and it was safer than a cell phone, and was not x-ray and did not penetrate the body.
I held my ground and did not have to go thru the MMW.

I was flying Southwest. They had a WTMD and a MMW.
THe WTMD was being used for us to walk thru after we had opted out. It wasn't turned on, it was just a portal to get thru.

Interesting. What a bummer. I mainly fly out of the AS gate. Will be a sad day when the MMW goes in there.

Clarification

Just to clarify, BUR:

1) Has NOS in Terminal A. Terminal A serves Alaska, Jet Blue, Southwest, and US Airways.

2) Has NO NOS in Terminal B. Terminal B currently serves only Delta and United.

Do I have that correct?

Alaska's check-in is in A, but gate is in B.

And yet another TSO who likes to think that their name is followed by "M.D."

Always say "religious reasons". They have no answer for that.

That works for me. I'm pretty sure my religion calls for modesty, at least for women.
