ATT Pulling Out of Consumer Market?

Heard a rumor that ATT was pulling out of the consumer market completely (not just the airline freq flyer programs but out of consumer service completely) Is this true? Anyone hear this rumor and have any reliable info.

I was reading an article the other day that MCI, Sprint, and AT&T have all stopped marketing to residential users. While they still do offer residential service they've realized the money to be made is elsewhere.

Seems smart as long distance is getting cheaper and cheaper, or free on your cell. Now if I could just find flat-rate international service...
