Train to Machu Pichu

Going to Peru next month and wonder where to book the train for Machu Pichu. Do we get the tickets there before departure? Thanks!

Book ahead of time, especially in tourist season.

Based on my recent research, you can now book online, and your hotel can also reserve for you. You might have to pick them up in person though...

Nice to hear you'll be visiting Peru!

The company that operates the trains is PeruRail. You can buy tickets online directly from their website, www.perurail.com.

Hope that helps!

Happy to help! Also, if you're interested, Groupon Peru launched a deal to Machu Picchu, so you may wanna take a look at it. Discussion in the following post: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/peru/1762261-deal-trip-machu-picchu-groupon.html

My understanding is tickets sell out during high season. They limit the number of people that may enter Machu Picchu each day. Also, don't forget your passport or leave it in your hotel room. You must present your passport to board the bus.
