Portland to Corvallis by ground transport?

Don't know if this question has been asked before:

A buddy and I are heading up to Corvallis to watch the Hawai'i vs. Oregon State football game on September 13th. Since we're staying in Portland it's going to be an ~85 mile trek to get down there for the game, but we're not interested in renting a car and having to pay for gas, parking, etc...

Are there any good ground transport options for getting between Portland and Corvallis? We're looking at making this a day trip, thereby returning to Portland ASAP following the game.

ADD: Greyhound appears to be a decent option to get down there in the morning (albeit a few hours early), but the only return to Portland leaves at 4:10pm, meaning that we'd have to leave the game by the start of the fourth quarter to catch that bus back.

I'd suggest renting a car for the flexibility. For two people splitting I don't think the cost would be too bad and I don't think there's any other great options. There is a shuttle service that goes Corvallis to Portland but is $48 one way and is more for airport transportation: http://www.portlandairportshuttle.com/
