Porter Announces YTZ-IAD Route
Just made a dummy booking... looks to be ~330 RT a/i ($129/each way for 'firm' fares).
Porter Airlines will begin service to Washington Dulles International Airport beginning in April. The regional airline, which operates out of the Toronto Island airport, said it will offer three daily round-trip flights on weekdays starting April 16. It will also have one round-trip on Saturdays and two round-trips on Sundays. “Greater Washington is a region that our passengers have told us is their number one priority for new Porter service,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “We expect great interest for both business and leisure trips and look forward to bringing competition to the route.” |
Thanks for posting! This is great. It would be even more phenomenal if they served DCA.
FYI, I did a dummy booking at the $129 base which came to $376 CAD a/i . |
Great news! Hopefully, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Detroit will come soon!

What concourse will they use at IAD? A or B? |

It's a shame that they can't serve DCA because YTZ lacks preclearance. It diminishes the benefit of the downtown service in Toronto to overall travel times.

Good point. YTZ not having preclearance changes the game. Off topic - is there a literally a line that separates the A and B gates at IAD?
You can see the division in this map: http://www.mwaa.com/file/AandBGates.pdf |
It is true about pre-clearance. Hopefully with enough US flights, they can persuade authorities to set this up at YTZ.
How far away is IAD from downtown? Also are there cheap transport options available, or will it be pricey to get into the city? |
