Another LAN Question

So I just purchased Business Tickets for LAX-SCL with a quick stop in LIM. It's LA flight 601. Leaves LAX at 1:20 PM ariving Lima at 11:55PM. I'm guessing it's the same aircraft that continues on to SCL... It departs Lima at 1:05 getting into SCL at 6:25 AM. If it is the same aircraft, would anyone have experience if we can just stay on the aircraft and sleep while loading/offloading passengers deplaning to Lima? It sure would be nice to be able to continue our sleep while on the ground... Experience anyone?

My other question is about the lounge at SCL. I read they have a "VIP" lounge down there. I've also seen on AA's site they say they have some sort of lounge access as well... are they one in the same? Or does AA actually have a AC there by chance? Thank you.

I have been on 601/600 many times. You have a very very slim chance of an equipment change @LIM. Otherwise, just stay onboard and relax - I usually put the seat in the loungechair-type position during the stop (there's a lot of activity, as the 767s use door 1L for all boarding/disembarkation, and the cabin is serviced - there are a lot of O/D SCL/LIM and LIM/LAX.

The SCL (Neruda) lounge is quite nice, but does get overcrowded at the time of the late night flight bank. It is larger and has more offerings than the LAN (Mistral) lounge. There is also an AA AC. You are welcome to use all 3. but if you want sushi, XO cognac, and a bank of computer terminals, the Neruda lounge it is.

Second that (but with just one trip between SCL & LAX). Note the 3 SCL lounges all have slightly different opening hours. Neruda indeed very quiet during the middle of the day and very busy in the evening (to the extent I was "stuck" at the computers due to no spare seats elsewhere).

Flew MIA-LIm and LIM-LAX a few weeks ago on the 767 Business class. As Eastbay said, I put a blanket under me and one over me - slept from takeoff to landing. On the LIM-LAX overnite they had handed out a card that asked if you wanted BKFST out of LAX. I wanted sleep and they only woke me up about 10 minutes out. I think thats excellent service

It is like a room service breakfast card. (Except there's no extra charge if you check off all the items )

Also when any pax opens the courtain to go to the toilet (and leaves it open), 1D suffers the light.

However, the FAs are pretty good about trying to keep the curtains shut.

Just FYI:
2-5 (or 5:30) am is the dead time for both LAN lounges and the AC at SCL. There is a Priority Pass compatible lounge that is open all night, but it is nothing special.

Very disappointing b/c the Neruda lounge has very comfortable lounge chairs w/blankets in a separate quiet room. Would have been nice for my overnight layover on the way to MVD...

Not sure about other non-Oneworld lounges.

I think DL is the only other lounge. At least there IS a lounge open 24 hours. I also think all the lounges, except for the Neruda lounge is Priority Pass-affiliated (and Neruda was until January).
