Here is the English version:

LAN 2009 Rewards Table

For reference and comaprison purpose, here is the current rewards table until January 18, 2009 before the expected devaluation:

Current LAN Rewards Table

The devaluation is not huge but the lack of advance notice is not good. Thankfully, I cleaned out most of LAN account this year by redeeming two Premium Business class awards from New York to Easter Island at a very good value & discount. I'll figure out something with the orphan miles.

Not always, LAN awards are kind of inflated as well. The short answer is it depends.

Ah yes, I see, the famous South America II and North America award. I don't know why LA classifies Brazil in that lot but granted, that creates some value.

So now that it connects via SCL, you have to pay the higher rate of 70K in cattle class. O.K., I see your grief.

For me, the best redemptions ever is JFK-SCL-IPC-SCL-JFK return all in the new Premium Business class for only 90K KM per person. Now, that's hard to top! But it appears, the reason why I got this at that rate is because LAN.com somehow messed up that day, on something that should have been 140K + 90 K = 230K per person. But given that the tickets were already issued, taxes paid for and confirmed, it was a done deal.

Speaking of which, I won't touch LA customer service on the ground. It is amazingly bad. Any thoughts of joinging Lan Pass as a FF is immediately given up once you have tasted what LA can do over the phone! They should be awarded the most clumsy, lazy and incompetent customer service of any airlines in the Americas!

thats th weird part, even though it transfers through scl the award remains 48000 kms
the issue is the connection time

Ah, that's good to know! See, FT is all about sharing tips. I can see JFK-SCL-GRU-SCL-JFK for only 90,000 KMs in Premium Business class! But given that route is served by JAL directly, JAL-GRU-JAL, the usefulness of LA is more limited.

LANPASS is always behind the market.

When the YQ went so high, they severely increased the UPG min fares. Now the YQ is back to almost nothing and they keep the same fares.

One assumption for this is that they tried to do devalue miles because of the -total- fare increase as per the high YQ's. Now its back to normal and we passengers are screwed.

Another assumption is the number of credit cards that get so much km and the number of non-flyers getting biz-class seats just because they spend a lot with their AMEX and not because they are LA loyal flyers.
